About us
The Kosovo Development Center (KDC), a non-governmental and non-profit organization, was founded in 2001 by local initiative and support from the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) and Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO) in the Netherlands.
KDC currently employs 10 full-time staff members and draws upon the expertise of 25 local consultants and field extension agents. The Board is comprised of five members elected by a twenty-one member Assembly. KDC also derives support from local communities: more than 60 co-workers (Farmers Association members, lead farmers, village leaders, etc.) work voluntarily.
Target groups
KDC’ activities focus on rural development, employment and income generation, civil society, and information distribution. Thus, KDC aid specifically targets entrepreneurs, Farmers’ Associations (FAs), farmers, widowed women, and minority groups. Its local partners include FA members, various ethnic farmer groups, agriculture cooperatives, agriculture departments, and the Ministry of Agriculture.
